Dream, Organize & Plan for Next Season

Winter is when great gardens are imagined. With the rush of planting and maintenance behind you, this season gives you the space to reflect, organize, and intentionally plan for what’s next.

Dream a little:

  • Flip through garden books, catalogs, and social media for inspiration

  • Think about how you want your garden to feel next year—more color, less maintenance, more food, more flowers?

  • Consider new varieties, garden themes, or spaces you’d like to refresh

Reflect & take notes:

  • Write down what thrived and what struggled last season

  • Note sun and shade changes, drainage issues, or pest problems

  • Record bloom times so you can plan for more consistent color

Get organized:

  • Sort and label leftover seeds. Sanitize tools

  • Make a simple garden map of what was planted where

  • Create a wish list of plants, tools, or supplies you’ll need

Plan ahead:

  • How many plants do you need to fill your space and/or feed your family?

  • Map out planting timelines for vegetables and flowers

  • Schedule spring projects now—especially if you’re considering landscaping or plant installations

Planning during the winter turns spring from overwhelming into exciting—and helps you garden with confidence from day one.

Spring always comes faster than we think.

Take care,
